Monday-Friday letting
There's a growing trend in flatshare at the moment which sees landlords renting out a room from Monday to Friday only. There are obvious benefits to the landlord as they can earn an income from their spare room whilst maintaining a little privacy at weekends. In return the lodger gets to use a room during the week then goes home for the weekends without having to pay full rent on a room they only use for 4 or 5 nights per week. Fractional letting, as its also known, is becoming increasingly popular in cities such as London where lots of people travel in to work and often face a lengthy commute to do so. In some cases the cost of renting a room during the week can be cheaper than the price of the commute in addition to saving time. We even know of one person whose family lived on the Costa Del Sol while he rented Monday to Friday in London and flew back for weekends!
